For years I have heard phrases that are “cute” but have absolutely no meaning to me what so ever. However as with most things, if you hear it enough you will more than likely adapt that for your own personal use.
“The proof is in the pudding”
You have heard it before and just like me you probably though to yourself, “what in the world does that mean?” Well I had a good idea what it meant so I will take a few moments to share. The origin of the phrase is actually:
“The proof of the pudding is in the eating”
Ahhhhh you say, it makes so much more sense now. Especially when you understand that the word proof means that any factual evidence that helps to establish the truth of something; "if you have any proof for what you say, now is the time to produce it".
I have been receiving what I like to call “validation feedback” from individuals that have been reading my blogs as of late. They have come by way of referrals, Facebook and more recently Twitter. I have a few subscribers thru a
few mediums and RSS feeds as well. To tell you the truth I had no idea that I had that many followers thru the RSS feeds so I was pleasantly surprised to get the amount of feedback that I have. One of the main questions I get all of the time is “Why do you do this for free?” I know that some things are too good to be true but basic fitness information shouldn’t be one of them. As far as my services go……….I will NOT train you for free, however it makes my job with you a whole lot easier if you have a basic understanding of what I am talking about during a training session. If not then we will spend the first few hours getting you integrated into the fitness lifestyle. This is one thing about MOST (not all) Mega Gym trainers. They tell you what they want you to know but now what you should know. They want to keep you dependent on them the entire time for every facet of a workout. Some will even have you doing some of the most preposterous exercises know to man (see image). But what happens when you want to take a vacation? Will they be in the Bahamas with you? Will you have a clue how to set up a successful plan while you are on vacation to maintain? Do their services include e-mail and downloadable workout forms (my services do!)? These are the things to think about when talking to a trainer.

I tell all of my friends this. IF you are paying for someone to provide you with results and you aren’t getting any then you need to inform them that it’s not working. If adjustments aren’t made then you need to dissolve the relationship. It really is that simple. For some of the prices that you pay at the Mega Gyms for a trainer they should be cooking your meals too!!!
If your trainer tells you that a 2-3lbs weight loss in a 1 month period is good then slap him as hard as you can for lying to your face and run like hell in the opposite direction. Then find another trainer (BigNerdNutrition@gmail.com).
Yesterday I got an email from an old friend who knows how much time and effort that I put into research and the time I spend testing products. His name is Mick Paugh and he was even inspired to share an article (Stay Motivated) here for me to post.
He said:
Aaron,
That was a great article!!! I'm glad to see someone tell it like it is... Thanks bro and keep 'em coming... It’s good to hear people tell it like it is when you have a 1000 commercials on TV telling lies.
Mick
The reason this email in particular is so relevant to me is because when I met Mick about 4 years ago (man time flies) he was the normal gym rat who had hit a plateau. We were on a communications team that did A LOT of travel so we really didn’t have time for BS workouts. Well after sitting down and talking with him for a while I began to dissect what he was doing wrong and suggested a few minor changes to the workout and diet scheme along with a few supplements to aid in the process. Well after a few weeks he was growing and getting stronger. Seeing personal best in all of his lifts and progress had once again taken off.
“The proof is in the pudding”
Or
“The proof of my training is in the trying”

You too will wonder why it’s free. This is a pretty simple and easy equation. You try the adjustments and suggestions that I put here on the blog and there is a good chance that you will say “hey this guy is the TRUTH!” Now you have confidence in my ability as a trainer. If my free information is this good, imagine how good the information that you pay for is!!! Now I have built a base of credibility. You know that I will NOT waste your time.
I Try to Build Life Long Friendships
All of my clients and former clients still contact me for information from time to time. Some have gone on to be successful at reading their own bodies and are now able to work out on their own. Others are now training others and some have even fallen off the wagon (hey it happens to everyone). One thing that they know is that whatever the situation, when they contact me they will get honesty. I will tell them what they need and they contact me because of that trust and friendship that was built thru sweat and tears (and a few have tested my resiliency buy frequently cussing me during training sessions, lol).
Here are a few hyperlinks to a few that have written articles in testament to my ability to motivate you and get you to accomplish whatever it is that you seek.
