I am a HUGE fan of information. I don't think that in today's society someone should drone or constantly spin their wheels in frustration trying to get in shape. There are too many great Personal Trainers (like me) who are more than willing to help the masses. Some things SEEM like they are rocket science and you feel because you are not familiar with the source material that it will be hard to learn. However, you KNOW when you are about to eat something "less than healthy". Comments like "Argh I know I shouldn't be eating this cake" or "do I really need to go to McDonald's 3 days in a row?" Somehow you find yourself in a position of vulnerability and you do it despite knowing that it wont get you any closer to your weight loss goals.
There are many things that need to be known in order to start a successful diet and exercise program. I would tell those of you that suffer from serious ailments such as Hypertension, High Blood Pressure and Diabetes to make sure that you get with your attending physician first before you start a program so that you can be monitored. As for the rest of us that suffer from “Icantseemtogetoffthecouchitis” then you really need to start here at Essentials and get a solid foundation for what you need to know about calories, BMR and the difference between a gram of protein and a gram of fat.
This presentation was originally developed by me for the US Army Overweight Program as I have found that a good majority of the individuals that choose to serve their country (Bless Them All) do not have the slightest idea how to eat for weight loss or performance simply because when they left the house at 18 their parents were cooking for them.
Pretty much the same concept applies to those that go to college for anything other than sports related scholarships. That’s where the term “Freshman Forty” came from. Ordering pizza and studying because that’s all you knew.
Well as I give my various classes to different groups to include firefighters, police officers, military and so on I will post that information here so that you can get the meat of the presentation.
